The Humeral Fracture Orthosis (HCPCS L3980) is a vital tool for the functional treatment of mid-shaft humerus fractures. Unlike a full cast, which immobilizes the entire arm, the Sarmiento-style brace uses the body’s own soft tissue to create a “hydraulic sleeve” around the bone. This stabilizes the fracture while allowing the patient to use their hand and elbow, which significantly speeds up the rehabilitation process.
